Board of Supervisors

As a sub-division of state government the Porter County Soil & Water Conservation District is governed by a board of five supervisors. Three supervisors are elected to the board and two are appointed. Elections take place at an annual meeting, generally convened in March. 

As residents of Porter County they assure that the projects and activities with which the District is involved address the concerns and needs of local citizens. 

The current board of supervisors consists of Connor Gustafson, Chairman, Mike Kreiger, Vice-Chairman, Ed Ruge, Fiscal Officer, Greg Birky, Member and Tom Murphy, Member.

Board meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month with the exception of May and October. No meetings are held during these months. Most board meetings are convened at 4:45 pm, but some meetings in the winter take place earlier in the day.. All are held at the SWCD Office at 2602 Chicago St., Ste. 300-Valparaiso, IN.
