Board Meeting Information

The Porter County Soil & Water Conservation District convenes monthly board meetings throughout the year with the exception of the months  of May and October. All of the board meetings are open to the public. Per Indiana Code 14-32 three  SWCD board members are elected at the Porter County SWCD annual meeting convened in the first quarter of each year. The meeting is open to the public. The remaining two members are appointed by the Indiana State Soil Board.

Greg Birky, Fiscal Officer, ( elected-3/2024-3/2027- Annual Porter County SWCD Meeting)

Jim Kreiger, Member,  (temporary appointment 7/8/2025-3/4/2026-Indiana State Soil Board)

Byron Ed Ruge, Member, (appointed 3/2024-3/2027-Indiana State Soil Board)

Board meetings are scheduled for 2026 on the third Tuesday of the month and generally start at 5:30 pm (CT) and are held at the USDA Service Center located at 2602 Chicago St., Ste. 300-  Valparaiso.
